Junior Squash coaching is available to all levels of junior players and is ranked in orange, blue, red, yellow, and squad tiers.

Classes typically range from 30 minutes to 90 minutes in a single session once a week depending on age and skill level.

JUNIOR SQUASH COACHING TIERS

Orange - Starter

Age (typical): 5 to 8 years
Grade (typical): ungraded
Ball: Orange foam ball
One 30 minute session per week
8 weeks per term

Introduces children to squash through games and fun activities. Children learn the basics of squash. Children in the Orange stage use an orange foam ball, which is softer and bounces higher than a squash ball.

Blue - Beginner

Age (typical): 8 to 11 years
Grade (typical): ungraded
Ball: Blue dot ball
One 45 minute session per week
Term 3 starts 20 July 2020 and runs for 8 weeks

Introduces children to squash through games and fun activities. Children learn the basics of squash. Children in the Blue stage use a blue dot squash ball, which bounces higher than a typical squash ball and does not require warming up.

Red - Intermediate

Age (typical): 11 to 15 years
Grade (typical): ungraded or J4
Ball: Red or yellow dot ball
One 45 minute session per week
Term 3 starts 20 July 2020 and runs for 8 weeks

Ideal for older beginners, or younger players progressing from the Blue stage. Children are introduced to competitive play.

Yellow - Competitive

Age (typical): 11 years and up
Grade (typical): J3 to J2
Ball: Yellow dot ball
One 45 minute session per week
Term 3 starts 20 July 2020 and runs for 8 weeks

For players who are capable of competitive matchplay. Ideal for those starting to play Interclub/tournaments.

Squad - Advanced and Elite

Age (typical): 15 years and up
Grade (typical): Advanced: J1 to C2, Elite: C1 and up
Ball: Yellow dot ball
One 90 minute session per week
Term 3 starts 20 July 2020 and runs for 8 weeks

For players who have achieved a national grading of J1 or higher and are playing Interclub/tournaments.
